Hey there, the name’s Sam. Well it’s actually Samantha, but you don’t need to know that. No one calls me Samantha unless it’s my mother. Now, I’m sure you’re wondering what I’m doing in Spain. Or not, cause I wouldn’t ask questions of a random girl. Anyway, if you need to know, I’m backpacking across Europe. It’s not for any real reason; just wanna get a taste of the history before I start my job back home. I’m from Canada, born and raised in Vancouver. I’ve always been interested in history and that was heightened by attending Douglas College in BC. I majored in Anthropology, specializing in Archaeology. Hence the exploring that I’ll be neck deep in while in Europe. I kind of just started my venture, though. Just got over to Europe and decided to start in Spain. I’ll head around, end in the UK somewhere and then jump a plane back home. I’m on this trip because I don’t really know what to do with myself now that I’m out of school. Made it out with great grades, so that’s always a bonus and it did secure me a position at a museum. Mind you, I might have scared the interviewer when he was talking with me. See, I’m a little headstrong, so that probably helped me out in that regard. Determined, stubborn and rather strong willed, I do tend to jump in headfirst. Usually it works out (somehow), but there is the odd time that I get into a pickle… Most people that I know would say that I’m a rambler at these parts, but there’s one key thing about any conversation that you have to know. It’s really important to me, always has been. There’s just something about letting someone else have the last word that just gets to me. It’s almost a compulsion. I can’t let someone say something and not have a response. I guess I’m just a little blunt as well, making sure that my opinion is heard. It’s just how I am. As much as I’d like to go back home, I’m gonna stick it out overseas. The time to explore is here. Sooner or later, it’s back to the same old, same old. I got a job at a museum, hey? Get the chance to see all the artefacts face to face. It’s lame, but that’s me. I’m all for getting what I want, but I feel right at home when I’m looking at something that’s older than my grandparents. It just connects the dots, you know? Passionate about history, that’s what I’m all about. That’s pretty much all you need to know. If there’s more, you’ll already know. Otherwise, have a nice day.
