Vesper yawned a little, flopping back on the sand. It was still warm beneath his fingers, the grains rough but soft enough to not be too irritating. He glanced out towards the water, where the sun was almost aligned with the surface. The reflection was harsh on his eyes so he pulled them away, instead glancing to his handy work, a tent. It’d taken a bit to find a tent, but he had and was surprised at his own skill at setting it up. Inside was big enough for four people, which meant that the two sleepers wouldn’t be near one another... Then gain, he intended to sleep outside the tent. He might be a casual guy like the next one, but he drew the line at imposing on a princess. That you’re supposed to be killing... he reminded himself, causing his eyes to drop further to his bag. Inside was something he didn’t really want to use, something he’d told himself he wouldn’t use. His father had taken him to learn how to use the Desert Eagle... But that never meant he wanted to. Hell, getting it through customs would have been impossible, but lucky for him, Sabina’s psycho cousin had flown him in themself.
Killing for the throne seemed ridiculous, especially when Sabina obviously didn’t care for ruling anyway... But who was Vesper to really comment... Stop it, you’ve known her how long? Met up for coffee a handful of times. Don’t get attached. he told himself firmly, shifting to wrench his gaze away from his bag. Father like son. His father had been charged with killing Vesper’s mom, Vesper knew that much and when he married her instead look what happened? Vesper couldn’t even GO to Italy without fearing for his life. It was heartbreaking. She’s just one more snobby princess with inbred bloodlines. He told himself, though he knew he wasn’t convincing. He sighed slightly, running a hand through his hair. He’d just have to do it, he’d done it before, right? This would be no different... except it was a girl... And he knew her... And it wasn’t self defence. It was for money. He disgusted himself.
He flopped back in the sand, staring at the orange and pink sky instead of the tent, or the sea. She’d be there soon enough, he’d keep up his half of the conversations then when she was asleep, he’d do his job. They were far enough that nobody would hear, then he’d call her crazy cousin, get out of Spain, get his new identity and leave for Italy. His car and dog would be waiting for him if all things were held up. And worst came to worse, the crazy cousin wouldn’t keep her side of the promise and he’d catch the fairy out in the morning and head for France. Or even Italy. He’d hide in Europe. He’d become Victor Monroe, a new face wasn’t needed. Just a haircut and some low key shit. Besides, if he got caught at least he wouldn’t have to worry about rent. He’d have to deal with the other prisoners... Or would he? He might get some cell to himself for killing a freakin’ princess. That was something big. He gave a nasty smirk to himself. Yeah. He hadn’t wanted to ever end up like his father... He was following in the same footsteps, and he hated it.
The sound of approaching feet crunching in the sand snapped him away from the thoughts. He stay laying there, though turned his head to the side to make sure it was Sabina. And of course, it was. The red head was headed towards the tent and probably her doom. And yet, like she said she would be... she looked excited. Guilt blackened the edges of Vesper’s vision as he pushed himself upright. He pushed to the side a little, careful not to slide right into the little fire flickering beside the tent. and so it begins... he thought to himself bitterly, swallowing roughly. He took a breath then looked towards her again, forcing a slight, half-smile to his lips. “Hey there, I was beginning to wonder if you’d actually show up.” He said once she was within earshot. He patted the sand beside him with a hand, letting his little half smile form into a grin. How could he not? The sight of her face, her eyes with the sunset behind her was astounding... Even for a normally cold guy like him.

“Isn't that the girl that hangs out with the help?” That was not something Sabina was surprised to hear, it had happened enough times back home that it really came with no shock this time either. What could she say? People who weren't royalty were more her type than those who were. First off, mixing future power and money with a teenager was never a good idea, but it happened anyways. This so called fine institution for royalty was nothing more than a bunch of snobby teenagers with attitude problems. Not Sabina, at least not all the time. She was one of the few who didn't want this at all. Alright, so she wasn't that off from being normal, and most of the time she did look normal. Being mistaken for help by some of the girls helped to prove that. How great. So what? She didn't like fancy dresses, crowns and dinner parties. All that she really wanted was movie nights with friends, to be able to stay out all night, be able to do things that she regretted without having every newspaper print it on the front page, to spend some time out on the beach? And that was exactly what she was getting this weekend thanks to someone who had helped make this place of ignorance bearable.
It had actually surprised her how well she and Vesper had taken to each other. Truth be told, he was sort of the closest that she had to a friend. How sad was that? When she was back home there really wasn't room for friends. Well, there was. But she had to make do with the people she met that were of her rank and age. Most proved too cocky or snobby for Sabina's liking. Which was exactly why she would venture out on her own, usually only to get herself into some sort of trouble and receive a lecture on a real princess was to behave. But to Sabina it was all the same. Blah.. Blah.. Blah. Her usual invitations to “hang out” meant some sort of party out on a yacht or some banquet with many high society people. But this invitation was something that she had always wanted. Tenting on the beach? It really could not get any better than that, at least she thought so. No dresses, no heels, no one to tell her to sit up straight and for her chin to be up. Just her and a friend, camping out on the beach. Was this all too much to ask for? She could practically hear hear her parents. Sitting on the beach, with a servant boy no less.. How scandalous! Not the way a future queen should be behaving, not something a dignified person should behave. What could she say? She did love breaking the rules.
Sabina ignored the chatter of royalty as she walked hurriedly out of the room. How she hated that she didn't fit in with people that she was supposed to. But no matter, she would have much more fun with being herself. Well, being normal. It really was about time she got to do something like this. After being told no and lectured most of her life, it was great to be able to do what she wanted without having to worry about what people thought. The redhead slung her small bag of things she would need over her shoulders, bouncing against her leg as she made her way out of the academy. It really was not that far of a walk to the sea. If she were to take a ride out there they would expect her to be back before dark. Policy for safety. No, she wanted to be out there as long as she possibly could.
The girl smiled slightly as she got closer to her destination, in love with the feeling of her feet sinking into the sand though most people would have hated the heavy walking. She loved it though. Sabina's small smile grew into a much bigger grin when she caught sight of a made up tent, knowing very well she and Vesper had picked their spot previous to that day. Her pace did not slow until she got closer, she didn't want to seem to eager and scare him off or something like that. But it was hard to hide how excited she was. Sabina waved in response to him, moving over to sit down in the sand next to him, tossing her things aside. “Hello to you too. Of course I would show up, a princess always keeps her word after all,” she said with a bit of a smirk, “You set up the tent, I thought we could have done that together so you wouldn't have to do it on your own. Apparently you are ahead of me,” she added, letting the smirk slip into a soft smile.

Vesper returned the wave he received in a rather casual and nonchalant manner. It was weird, and call him stupid but he hardly could consider Sabina a princess. For one, her kingdom was somewhere that nobody ever went or knew about, and second… She just didn’t have the princess image to her. Maybe that was just his opinion, but it was the way he felt about it. He had tried the first time they met up, but he’d found it incredibly hard. Then again, when had he ever not had issues showing those above him respect, he’d never been the guy to roll over and reveal his belly for anyone. Not his Dad, his dad’s enemies, not teachers, or police when he got speeding tickets. Nope. This princess was no different from the cop he’d argued with over a parking ticket. Still, he had to admit, she wasn’t exactly the type to shove her power in his face… Not like Ahora. Vesper had never had the urge to punch a women in the face before, but that girl was probably one of the very few exceptions he’d ever know. The way she fit the princess image perfectly was disgusting… She treated him like a personal slave… Which he supposed he was supposed to be. Servant and all that. But he wasn’t her servant and he tended to flip shit in the kitchen when he had to give into her demands. Then again, he didn’t exactly do it nicely, nor was he ever all that polite to her. He did what he had to to stay there, he couldn’t get fired, packed up and sent back to America without having taken care of Sabina. Then he got his payment and he’d be all for getting himself fired. Unless of course he had to run for it.
”Well excuse me for not knowing how princesses work. In New York we don’t have royalty anymore if you hadn’t heard about that.” He replied with a faint shrug. Monarchy had long been dead where he came from. Then again, they’d never had their own, they had followed Britain’s back in the day. See? He paid attention in history class. He returned her smirk a little then gave another shrug at the mention of the tent. “I figured I might as well do it, I was getting bored and it was something to do.”[/color[] He told her, then let his smile widen into a amused grin. “But knowing my handy work it might as fast fall over and we’ll have to put it up again anyways.” He joked. It wasn’t a likely situation… If there was one thing he could do after his father’s training it was set up a tent. True… The sand did pose a little issue, but he’d gotten around it with some determination.
He turned his gaze back out to the water, feeling a nervous jump in his stomach. Yeah. He really didn’t want to shoot her… Or poison her… Or any of the other thoughts he’d had about killing…. Assassinating her. But he knew he had to. As horrible as it was. He pushed the thoughts away quickly and glanced back over her way “So. This is your first time in a tent… Your first time probably sleeping outside away from your lodgings. And with a complete commoner stranger…” He said slowly after a moment. “How much trouble would you be in right now if your parents knew? He asked. He knew his father would probably not have cared as long as he knew that Vesper could care for himself. And care for himself he could do. He’d been taught at an early age how to protect himself, how to fire a loaded weapon, use a knife to basic defence. He was no assassin to be sure, but he did have enough skill to be a rudimentary replacement of his father. If he’d been in Italy.
“Because I know my mother would have been rather against the idea of me running off to the beach to hang around with some strange guy if I’d been a girl.” He lied. He had no idea what his mother was like. He barely remembered her face. In fact, he was pretty sure the memories he had he MADE from pictures of her that his father had around the house back in Italy. He’d lost them all moving to the US. In fact they’d lost a lot except for money and the family dog. Sadly enough Veseper’d lost that dog soon after moving when it got hit by a bus. But he was definitely over that. And his mom.

Sabina couldn't help but to roll her eyes, a small smile gracing her lips. Of course she was well aware that there was no princesses and such in New York, she was never one to just stay in her own world. After all, she really wanted to travel, see new places and such. She'd been to the states a few times, but never long enough for her to be able to go off on her own and see the sites and all those typical things. It was refreshing to be around someone who wasn't royalty, or that he did not seemed to be intimidated by her title. They could kid around and it would be totally fine because she wouldn't be breaking some rule. She was sure that it was really just something about Vesper that made her think that way. She may have been a little dramatic when she said that he made her feel like a normal person among people who thought that they were all above each other. It was annoying.. Everyone thinking that they were much better than the other. At least around Vesper she didn't have to worry about that sort of thing. She didn't care, he didn't care. What could have been better than that?
“I assure you that I am very aware of your lack of royalty in the states” Sabina started, rolling her eyes once again, pushing a tress of hair behind her ear as her gaze remained down on the sand. “I didn't mean it that way though, I don't need things done for me all the time. In fact, I'm going to let you in on a little secret, I sort of loathe it. Makes me feel lazy.” she said with a smile. “I hope that you didn't wait out here too long, enough time to set up a tent, must have been a while. In which I apologize for making you wait for forever,” she said with a curt nod. Sabina laughed as the thoughts of the falling tent crossed her mind, something like that would only happen to her, she was almost sure of that. Truth be told, she sort of wished that it would, just so it would give them something to do and she wouldn't have to worry about an awkward pause or anything. She was never the sort of person that was full of conversation, most of the time she never even knew what to say. Sabina was just used to having everything rehearsed for her.
Sabina nodded along as he spoke, not even wanting to think about what her parents reactions to what she was doing. She could practically hear her mother giving her an earful about how unladylike like she was being. So girl of her age should be out in a tent on the beach, it was unheard of and ladies of their stature did not do such a thing! And blah, blah, blah. That speech had gotten extremely old in her eighteen years. Eventually she learned to drown them out. Nor did she really know why she cared so much about what her parents would think. They weren't here, why did she even bother to care? It wasn't like she was going to tell them all about it the second that she went back to Jersey. She would have been an idiot to do that. “In short? Well, I'd be dead meat. My mother would have a conniption and my Dad? He would go of on this day long rant about how I am tarnishing the family name with such antics and I should be ashamed of not showing public decency.. And I'd just be like.. Yeah, because I'm totally taking my top off for cameras and acting like an out of control celebrity instead of royalty. I don't think they understand that I'm not like everyone else.” she said, rolling her eyes as she brought her knees up to her chest.
The redhead wanted to slap herself for going off on a rant like that. Especially when they weren't exactly on that level to do so with each other. If it was one rule that did stick that she was drilled was that she could never let strangers get to close. Of course she thought this rule was stupid.. Not everyone was bad, not everyone had a hidden motive behind kindness. “Sorry.. Totally didn't mean to just spill that out like nothing. Sabina said, laughing it off.
